Update Pending: The vendor contacted me via email today (10/29/25) advising me that they have sent new hardware for me to try and provided a tracking number for it. This is great to hear and a step in the right direction. I look forward to receiving the new hardware and trying it out.

I really did not want to write this review and have held off in doing so until now. I received my RTT security mounts and hardware over two weeks ago. The mounts look great and they fit great when holding them up under my Yakima HD bar by hand. A real nice product. I also received the mounting hardware which gave me problems relative to the security nuts. I read the enclosed note provided with the mounting hardware especially the information regarding the close tolerance between the tool and the nut. I was unable to have the tool inserted into the nut with moderate pressure and was concerned about not being able to remove the tool from the nut if I apply more pressure or tap it in. I have reported this twice to Wheel Every Weekend to get resolved and they have yet to contact me with a solution. Be prepared to spend another $40-$50 dollars for hardware that will secure the brackets to your crossbars as the hardware supplied by the manufacturer is useless. I understand that this is a small firm and they do not publish any phone contact info but it is truly frustrating to spend that much money for “specialized” hardware that does not work and then not be able to talk to someone about it. It’s been two weeks since I contacted them about it.
In summary, I’m very disappointed in the mounting hardware and non-existent customer support - perhaps I’m expecting too much. I don’t think so.
What I received was not what ordered.I wrote an email a week ago explaining it, and no one responded.
One of the first things I noticed when we got our RTT were the bolts that secured the tent on the roof of our car. Luckily, I found WEW and was instantly hooked on their RTT security brackets. I purchased the Yakima Jetstream brackets and they were easy to install, but extremely secure. Highly recommended!
Would be nice to have the option of which tent you are mounting so the bolts fit out of the box since it’s that much $$. Gotta go to Home Depot and get the size for my tent. I know they can’t fit all tents but maybe a couple of size options. Or an option to email for the right sizing idk
The mountain are not quite as tight a fit as I had hoped. There are some gaps to the bottom of the crossbars and enough of a gap between the mountain and the rail to get a saw in there.
