ICON 2005+ Tacoma Suspension Systems with Tubular Upper Control Arms

ICON Toyota Tacoma suspension systems are designed with maximum performance and the serious driver in mind. ICON engineers’ primary focus is to increase wheel travel and damping ability, which translates into outstanding vehicle control and ride quality both on and off-road. Starting with the basics, ICON takes a modular approach to their kits. ICON has put tremendous effort into ensuring that these kits can be bolted on and require no serious or permanent mods to an already durable and proven vehicle platform. Their rigorous ICON 1K testing process ensures that everything they sell is ready to see serious and sustained abuse in demanding environments. Starting out with a 2.5” body coilover and 2.0 monotube rear shock in Stage 1, ICON applies their vast knowledge of shock tuning to a proven vehicle platform. Stage 2 includes the basics and adds a rear add a leaf to improve rear ride over stock. Stage 3 adds DELTA JOINT upper control arms to increase available down travel and correct your caster geometry. Stage 4 upgrades all shocks to remote reservoirs (2.5” body in front, 2.0” body in back), and Stage 5 upgrades the rear shocks to 2.5” remote reservoirs. Moving up from there, Stage 6 adds ICON’s Compression Damping Control Valve (CDCV) to the front and rear shocks; Stage 7 upgrades the rear shocks to Omega Bypasses, with independently adjustable Compression and Rebound setting.

To combat the design constraints of a uniball joint, ICON developed their proprietary Delta Joint. This joint offers not only comparable wheel travel, but greatly improved wear and durability thanks to it’s metal on metal construction and sealed upper housing. Kits spec’d with billet upper control arms showcase ICON’s mastery of CNC machinery and offer the ability to fine tune alignment geometry on vehicle; FK rod ends at the frame side ensure minimal deflection with maximum durability. The fabricated tubular steel arms provide a tremendous increase in strength over stock, at a more reasonable price point and use urethane bushings at the frame side for better isolation from vibration. All ICON upper arms correct caster geometry, an important consideration when lifting IFS Toyotas, so you will have better steering feel than stock.

ICON’s CDCV valve equipped shocks feature the same professionally tuned, application specific valving as their other shocks, but with the added benefit of 10 clicks of easy to use external adjustments. These adjusters allow the end user to quickly change the vehicle’s ride quality based on terrain and load.

Stages 8, 9 and 10 swap out the rear add a leaf for ICON’s RXT system. This flagship system pulls out all the stops when it comes to squeezing out every last bit of available wheel travel. Using shocks with specially designed offset lower eyelets, custom length bodies, a larger remote reservoir and a complete replacement spring pack, ICON is able to increase the wheel travel by 20% while still bumping in the factory location. These custom springs feature ‘race ready’ features like a military wrapped front eyelet for durability and axle wrap control; low friction tip inserts and leaf separators to act reduce friction and maximize available travel. There are 3 available configurations for these springs depending on desired ride height and load capacity. Stage 8 comes equipped with the standard RXT 2.5” remote reservoir shock, Stage 9 adds the CDCV valve, and Stage 10 upgrades to the OMEGA bypass version of the RXT shock, all of which are tuned to work in concert with the RXT spring pack in any of its rate configurations.
