These are custom built here in the shop and exclusive to WEW. We take 8100s for a toyota tundra which net 1.5" more travel than the stock options and modify them to bolt up in the factory location. The one caveat is they have a 1" longer compressed length, but we know alot of you guys are running bump spacers so your tires aren't destroying your fenderwells. If you're running bump spacers the normal 4runner bypasses will not let you use your bump zone effectively. If that's you, then this is the perfect rear shock for you!
These shocks are revalved and tuned for the 4runner, the only thing we don't change is the reservoir mount and instead option it with universal weld on mounts which are frankly easier to install (provided it's done by a reputable shop).
These have a compressed height of 15.75" and extended length of 26". Stock shocks have a collapsed height of 14.75" and extended length of 23.5".
Bilstein's 8100 series are a direct fit, 2 tube external bypass. This lets you adjust your compression and rebound zone independently while providing a plush "ride zone". The engineering concept behind these is to give you the best ride comfort and handling on road, while also taming large suspension inputs off-road. During normal daily driving you have the control of the full size 60mm main piston, you can take your rig to work, pick up a load of groceries, or hit twisty mountain roads with maximum comfort and control. Off-road, the large external bypass tubes let some oil "bypass" the main piston valving to get your suspension moving over the rough stuff. The final compression zone is tuned as a bump zone and the bottom rebound zone serves to slow down harsh top out events. If you tuned normal smooth body shocks to work as good off-road, they would be miserable on-road, and vice versa.
This is for a pair of external bypass shocks for the rear of your 4Runner.
These shocks are designed to work with rear lift heights from 1.5-3.5".
